Introduction

I am one of those unfortunate adults who has chicken pox. As I searched the web for information it became apparent that much of the information is about children sufferers and very little about adult sufferers. I will not be posting any pictures since I think we all know that chicken pox sufferers look spotty!

I hope this blog will be helpful for other sufferers.

I would also like to add I am not a doctor, and therefore always seek qualified medical advice.

Comments

Wow, thanks for sharing and creating this blog. I too have suffered severely from the chicken pox and have overcome it, now fortunate enough to help others.

Good luck and keep it up! Great blog.

Just want to say thank you to the Author for creating this Blog. I had to deal with the Chicken Pox while working abroad on my own. This Blog helped a great deal to keep me calm as I was able to predict to some degree how the virus would come and go. Thank you!

I understand that this blog was written few years back but up to now it is still very helpful. I'm an adult who's currently suffering from chicken pox and to be honest, aside from its irritable itchiness, I am more concerned and bothered with how and when the scars, dark spots would completely go away. Thank you for journaling the day by day stages and development of your chickenpox experience. It actually lessens my depression. Hoping for fast recovery from this virus. Thanks again for your blog!! Keep writing! Kudos!

Day 231

Most of the brown scars have not pretty much vanished. Once or two very faint ones left. Quite a few little craters but can't really see them on the face. One larger crater on cheek but thats ok, got used to it now. Have stopped applying the Mederma and Bio-Oil everyday. Just put them on now and then. Few brown scars on body particularly around the waist, they will remain.

Day 1

It was the afternoon. I had been working at my computer most of the day. My neck was starting to ache. I just assumed that was due to the fact I was looking down at my computer. When I got home, my body was aching, and I felt hot and feverish. I could feel my lymph nodes at the back of my neck were swollen. My arms were aching too. I thought to myself that I was coming down with a cold or the flu. I just took some pain killers and went to bed.

Day 8

A good night sleep, took no pain killers before bed. Felt pretty good most of day. A slight cough. Scalp and face mildly itchy but largely scabbing over now. Few yellow liquid filled boils on body, they were the late comers. Still spending time in bed relaxing. Had a shower, washed hair with baby shampoo, but body with water. After shower filled sink with warm water, and add Olay mild face wash and dabbed face lightly using a flannel. Felt great after. Lots people giving advice not to pick or scratch the scabs or they will scar. Whenever I get a itch that's unbearable i gently touch the spot and itch usually goes away.
